Why is it called a SMART adapter?
We do almost all of our worldwide business remotely so we have been quietly building tools into our controllers and harnesses to make it easy for us to troubleshoot remotely. In these new Y adapters there is a status LED embedded in the plastic molding. This makes it so easy for you to see if your controls are working properly and getting down to the solenoids before you even get started. This saves you time and money. Now that is SMART.
How to use this Y adapter.
First you need to verify your solenoids and harness. Choose the style of connection needed. We manufacture Deutsch 2 pin, Delphi Metripac 2 pin and DIN 4 pin. Each one fits inline but the Y adapter from your laser/GPS/sonic controller will need to be Deutsch 2 pin. You can buy the mates if you do not have anything or chop ours off and wire directly into a cable of your choice.
Unplug the solenoid cable and install our Y adapter in between the cable and solenoid. You will need to do this 4 times so that you are controlling the left and right side up and down. You will now have 4 x 2 pin Deutsch receptacles that you can interface the external controls to. Each leg has a diode installed so that you cannot back feed the external control when running manually. Another reason these are SMART.
